Well, we'd like to open up science as many have tried before. Therefore, we developed a collaborative annotation tool for publications. It lets us discuss science openly. Independently of publishers and impact factors. Accessible from anywhere and freely available.
The developer and editorial team consist of grad students from various fields. All of us are active researchers (yes, we do this in our free time!). Besides, we have an excellent team of advisors including Melissa Franklin, who is the department chair of Physics at Harvard and Paolo Ciccarese, Harvard annotation specialist and co-chair of the W3C Open Annotation Community Group.
Open: All annotations will be made accessible via an API in the near future. Simplicity: Develop a tool that works without getting in the way. Accessiblity: Using HTML5 / CSS3 and latest web technologies we can make Open Review available for anyone, from anywhere.
